Aces Player of the Year Award.
The Aces were asked to name their Player of the Year and give a reason why the player should receive this award. Many votes were cast and it was a close call but we do now have our first ever Airdrie Aces Player of the Year.
In Third place, is long serving player/coach Paul Lovering. Aces voted for him for his “good defending,” and for “winning lots of headers.”
In joint Second place is Diarmuid O’Carroll, who received many votes for his ability to “hold up the ball,” and Bobby Donnelly received the same number of votes for being “tough in the tackle,” and showing “amazing defending.” However, year 1 of the Airdrie Aces Player of the Year trophy goes to…JOHN BAIRD. Johns goal scoring run propelled him into first place and earned him the Aces first Player of the Year award.
Everyone at the Aces would like to congratulate John on winning this award. Thanks go to the Airdrie Football Centre for sponsoring the Aces Player of the Year trophy and also to the Airdrie Directors for organising a presentation to John and for providing signed photographs for all the Aces.
The photo shows some of the Aces presenting John with his award before the last league game against Dunfermline.
