It’s been a difficult time for the Trust and the football club over the past few seasons but it’s proved a worthwhile week for us as we were able to help the Club with a financial donation which proved crucial in securing the signature of Jamie Stevenson.  I hope it shows that we have the clubs future and best interests at heart and have helped the club in getting a player of Jamie’s quality to re-sign for the club. It was good to receive the plaudits of the chairman and many supporters. None of this would have been possible without the support of the Trust members and supporters and we’re delighted that our efforts, and those of our members, have been recognised publicly.

The Trust committee will be handing out leaflets at the game tomorrow, seeking other supporters to join or re-join our membership and I thought I’d give you early sight of the text of our leaflet.

The overall strategy of the Supporters Trust since our formation in 2003 has been to strengthen the bonds between the Club, Stadium, Supporters and the Community with an aim to promote football as a recreational and sporting activity, focusing on community involvement.

Since the Supporters Trust was formed, with the help and support of members, supporters and the community, we have raised over £40,000 which has been used to promote such values.

We have successfully ran an annual Secondary Schools Football Tournament, the annual Player of the Year / Hall of Fame event, a young supporters club, the Airdrie Aces, social events for supporters, childrens football coaching and social events and raised funds for the clubs sponsors, St. Andrews Hospice.

This is just an example of the work that the Airdrie United Supporters Trust does for the Club, supporters and the local community. Membership is now up for renewal and the continued work of the Trust requires individuals to join and become involved. By joining you can have your voice and opinions heard and get involved in helping the club through these tough financial times.
